Tone

Using methods of Cross hatching,Dots, Lines to create shape and tonal qualities. For some reason i struggled with task even tho I practise these methods alot in my previous personal work. I'm not sure if this was down to the images i choose to illustrate and struggled when trying to replicate them. So i ended up with only a few images of minamile quality. I have also included some pages i had abit of a paddy with and covered in ink and words which i then tried to find some areas that had a quality to improve on.

On this image of Tim Armstrong lead man in Rancid a punk band i have used a couple of different line qualities to create tone. this image i feel was the best one i produced as i feel it resembles him.
This is his guitar i just used a little bit of cross hatching on the outside edge to see if i could establish some sort of depth,
A doc martin, used dots to add shading. next tim i do this im going to try a few different sizes of fine liner to see if i can build up the effect and save time and hopefully my 0.05 pen as this method seems to wear them out very quickly

More effort.

I was playing around with a refill bottle of ink and discovered it had a really nice quality when it was used to write fast with. so i wrote the word oi oi oi a few times, as this is a popular word with them punk kids. After i took a 0.005c fine liner and filled up some of the space with some pointillism dots which i feel looked really nice and i will hopefully be able to use the technique again soon.

At the tim i was doing this i was suffering with some pretty mad tooth ache so i drew a tooth using a white paint pen and added some dots to see how it would look.

maybe when doing this again choose images that are more easy to translate as have struggled to create anything that represents the images i have.
