Band Poster research.

Iv had to start a new post as issuu has given me a lot of issues on my other post.

So i Have managed to find the gig Poster book i found in the book shop in our library, i must of typed the title in wrong when i first searched for it.

I also got out Kustom Graphics as i have always loved the old school hot rod scene posters and pinstriping. This book is full of amazing artist with outstanding designs

An artist which stands out for me is Hiro "wildman" ishii. The way he uses pinstriping on his poster design for events really is unique, it gives the poster movement and a flow down the whole page. This i feel could be down to the colors he useses, black as the main lead colour and gold or red highlighting the black really makes it pop off the page. But since seeing him in this book i have seen more of his work and it just gets better.
So i have managed to get this book from the library and it is packed full of ideas and different layouts of poster. It has a great range of styles and techniques used by many different artists.
The first thing i came across is that the imagery has to be eye catching but does not have to be directly linked to the band or gig. As i've be trying to come up with ideas for a gig i'm going to on easter sunday I was really trying to highlight the fact it was to be held on easter sunday by putting easter related subjects on the poster.
