IN response to songs and lyrics - The Devil Inside of me

Some of the the early development on this for Franck Carter and the Rattlesnakes song The Devil Inside of Me

This is how i work on most of my drawings, start with pencil sketches then ink over it using a brush and drawing ink, then clean it up, then scan it in to photoshop to clean up and add some colour so i can see if the images is going to work before i invest lods of time.

Watercolour coloured and scanned in
Need to add more detail to the whole image, a background or some other items to fill the negative space of just colour, come up with the text to name the song.
Look at if i can get the color to sit together better - maybe dull the coat down some.

Digital practise pt2

After speaking to some of the other illustrators at Thought Bubble festival (at notes for names and add) about they practise and how they construct the work they had on sale. Most of them where very helpful and I have taken on board what they said and started to apply it to how I work. The most common bit of advice was to scan in a image each time i added more line work, build up the line work so i could see my progress and if i go too far on the stages i can always just use the image im happy with from my layers of scans.
I have also started to use a small micro brush and drawing ink to apply my line work. I love crisp clean lines and line work with some character and by using a brush and ink i can achieve both.
